Immerse Yourself in the New Testament

The “You’ve Got the Time” Bible listening initiative is gaining momentum and we’re feeling the excitement and affirmation. Two weeks ago, I was all over Arkansas telling the story of this amazing resource. (See http://www.thefellowship.info/ygtt for more info.)

There are at least four implications for this experience.
1) Personal Growth – spending 28 minutes a day listening to the New Testament will certainly have an impact on each of us.
2) Congregational Spiritual Formation – hopefully, Sunday school classes and other small groups will have listening times and engage in spiritual conversations. We talk about every other topic, imagine a serious conversation around Scripture!
3) Missional Engagement – as we use this resource, we also have the opportunity to further the work of our Global Missions personnel. Through the love offerings, we hope to be able to put at least six more language recordings in the hands of our mission folks.
4) Outreach and Evangelism – after the program is through, take your MP3 discs and share them with others. Invite others to join you in listening and spiritual conversation. Share the discs with a local shelter or counseling center. Reach out!

We also want to hear your stories and ideas. So send them to us and let us know how God is using this resource and all of us to share this living Word!
