Cooperative Baptist Fellowship has a new home!

CBF has a new home

On Monday morning, the CBF staff began work at its new office in Decatur, Ga. CBF moved to the fifth floor of the Fidelity Bank building on Clairemont Ave., in Decatur. The move allows CBF to improve the design and effectiveness of the space it occupies, while also providing access to additional transportation options and an engaging location for visitors. View photos of the new space and many of the attractions within walking distance of the office here.

What do those stones mean to you?

Joshua said to them, “Pass on before the ark of the Lord your God into the middle of the Jordan, and each of you take up a stone on your shoulder, one for each of the tribes of the Israelites, so that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’

Then you shall tell them… So these stones shall be to the Israelites a memorial forever.” – Joshua 4:5–7

The office staff gathered on Monday to commemorate the new space with a devotional led by Ruth Perkins Lee, CBF’s congregational services manager and member of the transition team that handled logistics related to the move. Perkins Lee read the story of Joshua leading the Israelites into a new land in Joshua 4:1–9, and asked the staff to commemorate the transition into their new space by placing stones in a jar on display in the office.

As staff members held the stones, they reflected on transitions in CBF life and how these stories shape them individually and the Fellowship as a body. “When people come to visit and ask, ‘What do those stones mean to you,’ they can tell the stories of a new day in CBF life,” Perkins Lee said.
