While having a rich history of theological diversity, Evangelicalism tends to skew towards female exclusivity in leadership and places of prominence. If you think this is an unfair assessment, name one female megachurch pastor from this movement…
The trickle-down effect of this patriarchal biblical worldview affects how Evangelical women have been given opportunities to have a voice and give shape to theology within the movement.
“Theology without intimacy is a hollow thing, neither relevant nor compelling. No unbelieving person wants it, and they shouldn’t because it isn’t Christianity. Pursue theology to pursue God’s heart, and you will be surprised to find that doctrine leads to devotion,” said Phylicia Masonheimer on the CBF Podcast Conversation.
Masonheimer’s work centers on advocating for female theologians within Evangelicalism. We sat down with the founder of Every Woman a Theologian to discuss her work and new book by the same name.
