Hello friends and family!
God’s blessings to each of you. I am going to keep this short because it is late for us over here in the land of Jet Lag!
Today started off early again- we left around 6 30 AM. We took a long but scenic bus ride to Bran Castle, which was built in the 1300s! It was a crowded area with many internationals. We climbed up many flights of stairs and enjoyed being tourists here in Romania. Wes Craig came alone with us- he was great company and helpful when we needed to speak Romanian! We then headed into Brasov, a city about 30 minutes from the castle. It was a quaint town with cobblestone streets and great houses along the roads. We ate lunch at one of his favorite restaurantscity and enjoyed some interesting Romanian cousine!
Here’s what we had:
Ciorba de burta (tripe soup)- really only a few of this tried this. It is soup with sheep’s stomach! I thought it was yummy! :); Sarmale with mamaliga, which is cabbage rolls with polenta; Tochitura, which is meat stew with some different sauces! YUM! It was quite the experience.
After a day of being a tourist I am personally really ready to get my hands dirty! We are all looking forward to tomorrow when we will get to talk with some Roma people in their homes.
Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts. We miss you all! God Bless,
Meredith
PS- thanks to mom for my cards and bible verses- we are all enjoying it! AND YOU! 🙂 LOVE YOU!

Meredith, I can almost taste the tripe soup! We pray for you and the team each day and follow your travels on a big world map posted on the wall at home. The team’s blogs have brought back good memories from my introduction to the Ruth School years ago with a CBF video crew. it’s great to see how the ministries among the Romany children and their families have continued to grow.

Mer!
How exciting it is to finally get to catch up on the blog… I haven’t been able to get to the computer in about two weeks due to tour, but I’ve still been praying for you and the team daily!
It sounds like you are having an amazing experience, and I’m so thankful for this blog so I can try to picture your team there and know how to pray so much more specifically for ya’ll. I miss you and pray that you are daily encouraged by all that you are encountering.
Love,
Heath
Hi Meredith!
The menu for your Romanian lunch sounded great (?) You will have to make some for us when you return. Can you get through Customs with a package of sheep stomach?
Love,
