The team has been unable to access the internet during most of their timein Nicaragua.  A couple of them did trek to an internet cafe in Managua and thought they had posted two blogs – but alas – it was unsuccessful!

They are doing well – currently they are in homestays in one of the poorest areas of Nicaragua.  They are divided into pairs and are being hosted by gracious families there.  They are sleeping on tables, in hammocks, on the floor – the best these families have to offer them.  They are bathing in the river – eating whatever the families eat and experiencing what daily life is really like in that community.  And they are utlizing every bit of Spanish they have ever learned!   For some team members – that is a lot – and for some – not so much.  It is a challenge and they are learning a great deal about themselves and about this culture.

Saturday they will travel to Mexico City to participate in the International AIDS conference.  You can check out this incredible event at www.aids2008.org.  It is an unbelievable opportunity for them to be a part of this important global gathering.
