At the Fellowship’s annual field personnel commissioning service June 23, CBF Global Missions Coordinator Rob Nash stood in front of the 13 new field personnel being commissioned – and he called them crazy.
“What they are trying to do is kind of a crazy thing to do,” Nash told the 1,200 people gathered for the commissioning service at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte.
And as he called them crazy, many of the 13 new field personnel nodded in agreement. What they are about to do – shifting their lives to follow the call of God around the world – wouldn’t make sense to many people. But God-given passion has a way of making people do things like quit their jobs amid an uneasy economy in order to minister on the other side of the world. God-given passion has a way of shifting priorities and changing lives.
In the same way that passion has changed these new field personnel, God can give each of us passion that changes us. Not all of us will become field personnel or move to the other side of the world to minister, but we all have something we can do to be part of God’s mission. And, yes, it might even be something crazy. Discover how you can engage your passion through the Fellowship: www.thefellowship.info/missions.
