The book grew out of five sermons delivered by Jim Sommerville, Pastor at FBC Richmond, VA. These sermons were preached at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Richmond as part of their 2010 Lenten Luncheon series.

Thanks for posting, CBF! I’m hearing from lots of pastors and church members who are finding this little book descriptive of their own experience in the church, and helpful in the sense that 1) declining attendance is not usually “their fault,” and 2) there is a way to focus on something much more hopeful and energizing than filling empty pews and offering plates.
