The Alabama Cooperative Baptist Fellowship is pleased to announce the calling of Ronnie Brewer as State Coordinator. Ronnie comes to this position from Trinity Baptist Church in Madison, AL where he serves as Senior Pastor.
Brewer was unanimously approved by the State Coordinating Council on Friday, September 10 after receiving a recommendation from its Search Committee on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.
“It is a privilege to join the work of ALCBF in this role,” said Brewer. “ALCBF has an important dream: to help Christians and churches cooperate together as a part of God’s mission in the world. There is much good work to continue here and great possibilities for the days ahead. I look forward to serving Christ and ALCBF churches in this spot.”
As pastor, leader, mentor, and friend he is known throughout Alabama CBF as well as national CBF. His experience includes degrees from the University of Montevallo and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a Masters Degree in both divinity and counseling. Ronnie has served as pastor of Trinity Baptist in Madison, Alabama, twice, 1987-1990 and 2000 to present. From 1990 to 2000 he served as the Senior Baptist Campus Minister at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. Ronnie also served as Baptist Campus Minister, University of Alabama at Huntsville from 1982 to 1988. Ronnie is married to Janet and they have two adult children, Jonathan and Stephanie.
“Ronnie brings a rich blend of experience coupled with a genuine excitement for the future of Alabama CBF,” said Alvin Pelton, ALCBF State Coordinator Search Committee Chair. “This spiritual journey of the search committee has led us to the right person for this new day in Alabama CBF.”
As part of Christ’s fellowship, the mission of ALCBF is to help Christians and congregations discover and fulfill the mission of God.
