The theme of this year’s ChurchWorks conference is based around Improvisational Leadership. The sessions will be lively, interactive, and engaging. You’ll laugh and learn and have immediate takeaways for learning. Don’t miss it! For more see the details, http://www.thefellowship.info/Churchworks
Improvisation is the art and craft of thinking on one’s feet in the midst of an ongoing situation. It is “in the moment” action and reaction that leads to positive outcomes. It is intuitive yet not just flying by the seat of one’s pants. It is much more than a “Whose line is it anyway?” skit! (Even those performers are more rehearsed than we know!!)
Improv keeps us in the moment, thinking about how we will respond. Yet, improv requires ACTIVE listening, you can’t respond until you’ve heard. Improv is about making others look good, building off what I know that I know, and being open to new ideas.
Improv is a great teaching tool too! Search the web for “improv activities” and you’ll have a ton of activities to liven up any Sunday school class, Wednesday night gathering, and even your sermon!
Try a little “mental floss”! Grow for it!
