Recently, I decided to study two books that I have read separately, together. The books,
Leadership and Self-Deception: Getting out of the Box by Arbinger Institute http://t.co/O2ADjSd via @amazon
Invitation to a Journey: A Road Map for Spiritual Formation by M. Robert Mulho… http://t.co/0KojyU8 via @amazon
are both excellent books. Studied together, I found amazing growth regarding how I encounter people on a day to day basis.
Some books are better read devotionally. What I like to do is keep a short journal as I interact with the reading. Think of this as an opportunity to capture short lines and thoughts regarding the learning as the reading impacts you. I usually try to write down at least one thought per chapter. Then, I go back after I am finished with both books and scan my journal for both books, looking for connections that lead to deep insights. I always write those insights down for future reflection…and maybe even a few Tweets.
If you plan to read these books together, read the Mulholland book first, then the Arbinger book, and feel free to e-mail me and share your insights. I would love to learn from you.
