CBF announces newly approved field personnel

After walking through several months of discernment with CBF Global Missions staff, five new field personnel have been selected and are beginning their preparation for service and commissioning at the CBF General Assembly in Atlanta, Ga. We are thrilled to introduce them to you today:

Scarlette JasperScarlette Jasper will be serving in 10 counties of the Lake Cumberland Development Area of South Central and Southwestern Kentucky.  She will be serving among the homeless population and working poor, families in medical crisis, victims of domestic violence, and families in financial crisis.  Scarlette ministry will interface with CB’s Together for Hope Initiative.

Scarlette has been involved in this type of ministry for many years, and is excited about the ways that this work can connect with CBF constituency through Together for Hope.  Scarlette is married to Charles Brian Jasper and is the mother of three children.  Her son, Roger, is the pastor of Living Faith Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, KY, a CBF partner congregation. 

miller evansJanel and Phil Miller-Evans will be serving with the newly formed Micah Center of Pinellas County, Inc.  Micah Center is an urban ministry whose purpose is to advocate in the community for the needs of the homeless and working poor of Pinellas County, to empower these individuals and families to take charge of their own condition, and to provide assistance when basic needs are not met so that individuals can focus energy on efforts that will create economic security.  Their work will be a part of CBF’s larger urban ministry team.  The Micah Center will also be a partner ministry of the Florida CBF.

Phil is the pastor of Chruch of the Beatitudes in St. Petersburg and Janel is a Chaplain and Pastoral Counselor.  They have two grown sons.

brooke and mikeBrooke and Mike will serve in Southeast Asia in education ministries.  They each have previous cross-cultural experience and are excited about this new opportunity to follow God’s call in their lives.Brooke and Mike have two children ages 2 and 1.

We are thrilled to welcome these 5 new field personnel to CBF Global Missions and look forward to celebrating with them at their commissioning service at the CBF General Assembly this June in Atlanta. GA.  They will be working in the coming months on raising their financial support and completing many sessions of orientation to prepare them for service.  Please pray for them and consider partnering with them in their work through your financial support.
