Bruce Minett began his work at CBF on June 2.
Before joining the CBF staff, Minett served since 2002 as Executive Associate Pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Carrollton, Ga. Prior to entering vocational ministry Bruce served in the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Air Force Reserve and the U.S. Civil Service at Charleston Air Force Base in Charleston, S.C.
Minett earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Charleston Southern University and an Associate Degree in Applied Science from the Community College of the Air Force.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to serve Cooperative Baptists at such an exciting time through the Fellowship,” Minett said. “I look forward to meeting and working with the many individuals and churches that support the mission and ministry of CBF.”
Minett is a Certified Church Administrator (CCA), which was earned through Union Presbyterian Seminary and the National Association of Church Business Administration; a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), earned through CFRE International; and a Certified Manager (CM), earned through the Institute of Certified Professional Managers at James Madison University. He has also earned professional certificates in Non-Profit Management (Duke University), Financial Planning (Boston University), Fundraising Management (Indiana University) and Fundraising and Development (University of Richmond).
“Bruce has the right skills and the right experience to make a huge impact in CBF’s engagement with people and churches,” said Jeff Huett, CBF’s Associate Coordinator for Communications and Advancement. “He will be a valuable member of CBF’s leadership team and will work to provide opportunities for Cooperative Baptists and others to participate in the mission and vision of CBF.”
Minett has served as Minister of Administration and Education at Bayside Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Va., (1989-2002) and Minister of Education and Youth at First Baptist Church of Galax, Va. (1987-1989).
He and his wife Beverly have two adult children – Steven, who lives in Hampton, Va., with his wife, Carla, and Kelly who lives in Centreville, Va., with her husband, Eric, and their two sons, Austin and Grant.
