Yes, the Advent season is here. And, here is a new resource for you to use to heighten your Advent experience. You can use this as an added learning experience in your Bible Study, you can use this on Wednesday nights, you might even use this as a “supply preacher” in your setting.
Jim Somerville, pastor at First Baptist Richmond, VA, has launched an exciting new venture, “A Sermon for every Sunday”, to help churches. He has recorded video of many of the leading Mainline Protestant proclaimers delivering rich sermons on a variety of topics. These videos can be purchased or rented. These can be used in a variety of settings.
Says Somerville, “”A Sermon for Every Sunday” requires a willingness to try something new and different, which is not something most churches are very good at. It also requires the use of some technology, which seems to be a challenge for the small, rural churches in particular.”
You can take a look at the website by clicking on the link below. I think you will be impressed by the quality and content of these sermons. www.asermonforeverysunday.com
This is an excellent resource. Jim has done Advent sermons for CBF churches in the past. Here he is branching out a bit wider but bringing a wonderful quality to this. If you are looking for a way to be creative in your Advent Journey, this is a wonderful tool.
