How does your congregation promote the CBF Offering for Global Missions? Who’s responsible for explaining the importance of this funding stream for our field personnel around the world? Could you use some fresh ideas to bolster your congregation’s participation?
A new source of help is available during this year’s General Assembly in Greensboro, N.C. Consider sending at least one key leader from your congregation to learn more about promoting the Offering in a new interactive workshop that will be offered on Wednesday June 22, at 1:30 p.m., at the Sheraton Hotel in Greensboro.
The workshop is free, and no advance registration is required.
During this time of conversation together, members of the CBF Missions Council will join with CBF Global Missions Coordinator Steven Porter and CBF Director of Development Martha Perusek in a dialogue about best practices for Offering promotion in local churches. Come share your successful tips and learn about what’s working in other CBF congregations.
Workshop participants also will get early access to an array of Offering promotion materials for this year.
The updated materials and the new workshop both acknowledge that CBF congregations approach the Offering in diverse ways. Some collect a special offering at one season of the year, while others roll the Offering into an annual unified budget approach. Still others use the Offering as an incentive for other forms of combined missions emphases. All these approaches will be discussed at the workshop.
Why does this matter? Because in the new funding model for CBF Global Missions, the Offering plays an enhanced role in ensuring all CBF field personnel have a ministry of presence. The Offering ensures that all our field personnel are able to live in the places they serve.
Come share your ideas as we seek to engage all our CBF congregations in greater generosity for the sake of CBF Global Missions.
