Resources to process Orlando tragedy with your congregation

By Joshua Speight

The shock and grief of the tragedy in Orlando is still very real for the families of the victims killed and injured at Pulse. And for many of us, we are grieving as we bear witness to another hateful shooting in one of our cities. For those who courageously risk each week to speak the peace of Christ from the pulpit, the Sunday school classroom or in our living rooms with friends and family; the search for words to point toward the God of hope and love who is stronger than hate, stronger than death, stronger than injustice can be overwhelming.

I am grateful for colleagues like our friends at Faithelement who curated a resource collection related to the tragedy in Orlando. These resources are for those who would desire to take a break from their scheduled curriculum to discuss, process, and pray about Orlando. Included in this list of resources are prayers, music, activities, articles and statements, as well as a link to add your our resources you may want to share.
