The following is a message from Rick Burnette, director of U.S. Disaster Response for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
CBF Disaster Response is monitoring updates on the forecast track of Hurricane Florence with effects expected to extend from the coastal Carolinas and further inland including portions of the Mid-Atlantic states. The storm’s expected impact includes strong winds and coastal storm surge as well as river and flash flooding.
We will provide updates as soon as we are aware of specific communities in need of CBF response. Our priority is to assist neighborhoods that tend to be overlooked during disaster recovery.
As we prepare for likely response, please be advised that CBF Disaster Response is not capable of handling donations of food, water, clothing and other material goods. However, we will be following up as quickly as possible regarding monetary donations as well as volunteer needs in specific communities
Follow CBF on Facebook and visit www.cbf.net for additional updates.
