I expect a lot out of myself. I’m not a perfectionist, but I do want the things I lead to be successful.
I do not try to attempt success with just one solitary initiative. Instead, I like to take a multi-faceted or layered approach.
At any given time, there are a lot of things to be juggled in a given week, on a given day. At times, if you are not careful, focus is diminished with a plethora of competing distractions.
“Distractions are like eating Tide pods. Objectively, it makes no sense and you will sound crazy trying to explain it to your grandmother. After you’ve given in to a distraction and satisfied the urge, you won’t even be glad you did it,” said Clay Scroggins on the CBF Podcast.
Clay is the author of How to Lead In a World of Distractions: Four Simple Habits For Turning Down the Noise. The book is an invitation to rethink our relationship with busyness and competing interest. Clay also serves as the lead pastor of Buckhead Church, a campus of North Point Ministries.
