DECATUR, Ga. — The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship released a video trailer today to preview the forthcoming resource Seeing Through the Eyes of Jesus focused on calling participants back to the central focus of the Christian faith, the Risen and Living Jesus.
This new resource for Fall 2022 invites congregations into deeper faithfulness with each other, equips congregations to offer a bold and positive witness to the risen Jesus and transforms us individually and corporately while we co-labor with God to transform the world.
Seeing Through the Eyes of Jesus has been developed with opportunities for people of all ages, so that a whole congregation can experience this journey together. Opportunities will also be provided for you to share insights and discoveries with Cooperative Baptists in other places.
CBF Executive Coordinator Paul Baxley invites congregations to participate in Seeing Through the Eyes of Jesus during Fall 2022.
“As you and your congregation begin making plans for the fall months, I hope you will join with other Cooperative Baptists by participating in Seeing Through the Eyes of Jesus,” Baxley said. “We have developed this unique resource because we know we live in a time when so many cultural, social and political pressures district us from seeing ourselves, one another and the world through Jesus’ eyes.
“As we follow the Risen and Living Jesus, we see differently. We act in his power and we participate in his mission in the world. As we read Scripture, pray together, and help one another grow in Christ, we will find our vision restored, our faith renewed and our mission clarified. At this time of brokenness and challenge, the church is called to live out of a powerful focus on Christ that can not only carry us through the storms but lift us into a life that is abundantly far more than anything we could ask or imagine.”
John Mark Boes, CBF staff member and project manager for this new resource, expressed his excitement for the forthcoming release of Seeing Through the Eyes of Jesus.
“Through conversations with multiple churches, pastors and lay leaders, it became clear that a call to follow the risen and living Jesus is more important now than in recent memory in our shared faith journey,” Boes said. “The work of Good Faith Media to create a robust Jesus Worldview Initiative has allowed CBF to develop a resource for churches. Seeing Through the Eyes of Jesus reminds us that Jesus matters and calls us to deeper faith and engagement with the way of Jesus.”
“Join us this Fall as we ask the Holy Spirit to help us see through the eyes of Jesus and live his life in the world,” Baxley said.
