By Aaron Weaver

CBF Disaster Response requests financial gifts to support emergency assistance efforts to a small community in Anguilla, Mississippi. A tornado shattered the Mason Trailer Park community in Anguilla on Wednesday, injuring three people and destroying homes.

CBF Mississippi Coordinator Jason Coker visited the community and spoke with residents. Coker is also president of Together for Hope, CBF’s rural development coalition, which serves the Delta region. Watch the video below:

Coker said that the dozen children in the community have lost everything except what they were wearing. Mr. Leonard is able to stay in his mobile home but has no electricity, as temperatures are in the 30s.

“We ask you to join us in responding to the unexpected devastation in Mississippi,” said Daynette Snead, CBF Domestic Disaster Response Manager. “This is an immediate need for families who have experienced significant loss during a time when we celebrate hope, joy, peace and love. I urge you to give what you can so that families affected by the tornadoes can experience the warmth of Christmas.”
