DECATUR, Ga. —The CBF Pan African Koinonia (PAK) is inviting nominations for the 2023 Emmanuel McCall Racial Justice Trailblazer Award.

The McCall Racial Justice Trailblazer Award recognizes CBF individuals and ministries who charter through unequal and unjust areas of life, and initiate proactive resolutions for communities in the form of policies or practices resulting in greater equity, opportunity, impact and outcomes for all.

“The McCall Racial Justice Trailblazer Award is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate those in CBF life who are courageously participating in the fight for racial justice,” said Rev. Kasey Jones, who leads the work of CBF’s McCall Racial Justice and Leadership Initiative.

“Additionally, it is an opportunity to inspire others by showing the multifaceted ways racial justice work is being done,” Jones added. “Nominate today if you know someone or a ministry doing racial just work publicly or even behind the scenes.”

The 2022 Racial Justice Trailblazer Award recipients were Rev. Dr. Michael Cheuk, an organizer with the Charlottesville Clergy Collective in Charlottesville, Va., and Friendship-West Baptist Church and Wilshire Baptist Church, two congregations in Dallas, Texas.

The deadline for nominations is March 31. Submit your nomination today.
