Zack Hunt, Godbreathed

Where did you get your concept of what the Bible is and its function in our lives? Where did that idea passed down to you come from? Just how old is it as a concept?

The theology established in the early church and later confirmed by various councils was that God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Do you remember them adding a fourth entity to the Holy Trinity, the Bible? Have many misunderstood the purpose of the Scriptures and replaced it with God in their lives?

“When I say Biblical Idolatry, I don’t mean I was bowing down before the Bible in my bedroom every night before bed chanting and burning incense. That would be weird. And even though I was definitely a weird kid, I wasn’t that weird. But I was radically, irrationally, cultishly devoted to a book,” said Zack Hunt on the CBF Podcast Conversation.

We sat down with Hunt to discuss his new book Godbreathed: What It Really Means for the Bible to Be Divinely Inspired. Hunt’s work has also been featured in Relevant Magazine, Christianity Today, Huffington Post, and Red Letter Christians.
