The effects of trauma, much like something like anxiety, express themselves in a diversity of ways, both individually and collectively. But what is trauma in the first place? Trauma feels like those words like anxiety, in which it has become a catch-all term that feels so vague and broad.

And with all of the complexities of trauma, for an organization like the church, how do we care for people who have and are experiencing it?

During the General Assembly in Dallas, we sat down with Dr. Kimberly Wagner, an Assistant Professor of Preaching at Princeton Theological Seminary and the author of Fractured Ground: Preaching in the Wake of Mass Trauma.
