Rev. Sara Hunt-Felke to join Passport as Coordinator for Youth Programs
(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) – We are excited to announce that Rev. Sara Hunt-Felke, will join the Passport national staff as the new Program Coordinator for Youth. Rev. Hunt-Felke is a graduate of Samford University (B.A.) and Fuller Theological Seminary (M.Div). She is coming to Passport, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, from Bayshore Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida, where she has been serving as Associate Pastor.
“Sara is only the second person to serve on the national staff who was once a camper!” says Passport President David Burroughs, “She has served on multiple summer teams and has brought campers as a group leader. She brings knowledge and experience to the program that will be invaluable.”
Rev. Hunt-Felke has over ten years of experience serving in the areas of pastoral care, ministry to students and their families, coordinating and leading service opportunities, and spiritual care in diverse multi-faith settings.
About joining the Passport team, Rev. Hunt-Felke says, “I am overjoyed and eager to step into this new role with Passport! Looking back over my life, Passport has played such a formative role in my faith and vocational journey. I am grateful both for the ways this organization has shaped me, and now grateful to contribute to her flourishing in the years ahead! Coming to this work with the previous lens of camper, staffer, and group leader, I hope I can draw from a deep well of history while also bringing creativity, relational leadership, and passion to my work. I’m excited to see all that is ahead as we continue this good work God has invited us into!”
Passport is a national non-profit student ministry providing creative summer camp experiences for youth and children, focusing on mission action and education.
