A Prayer For the Middle East

By Maha Boulos, CBF field personnel, Lebanon

As tensions rise in the Middle East, CBF field personnel in the region continue to serve as vessels of God’s transformation. Chaouki and Maha Boulos minister in Lebanon and the Middle East through evangelism, leadership training and refugee aid. Chaouki and Maha are safe and in the midst of the conflict, offer the following prayer for the end of the war and a lasting peace.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the brothers and sisters willing to join me in prayer for Lebanon and the surrounding areas. I am grateful for the progress we’ve seen in Beirut and throughout the north of the country since our return a few months ago. I thank you for the “Celebrate Jesus” event at the end of May and for the preparations underway for the Egypt Celebration in early September.

However, I come to you with a heavy heart as tensions have risen this week, with groups threatening one another. Until recently, our ministry was thriving, with regular meetings for both women and men, and successful food distributions for the Mar Mikhael families and our church groups.

I praise you for all that has been accomplished this year, yet I humbly ask for your continued support. Please bring an end to war and aggression, allowing peace to reign in our land and prevent any spillover into the surrounding areas.

Lord, protect us and grant us wisdom in our decisions. Shield our family, friends, and all resources we use for our ministry and the very loved people that we serve alongside. I pray that the situation does not escalate.

Finally, I ask for peace in the Middle East and that these events do not lead to a global conflict. Thank you for hearing my prayer.

Amen.

Maha Boulos
