By Laura Ayala, CBF Coordinator of Global Missions
As Tropical Storm Ernesto moves away from Puerto Rico, CBF is preparing to help in the aftermath. Currently, heavy rains are causing dangerous flooding and a lack of electricity throughout the area.
Disaster response has already begun through food and water distribution, and both first responders and those impacted will continue to need support. Vulnerable populations will be heavily impacted, and the mountainous regions of the country are expecting more than 10 inches of rain in a 24 hour period.
We ask you to join us as we pray for those who have lost property and housing as they will need to rebuild in the coming weeks and months. We pray for the first responders and their families. We pray for the churches that have become hands and feet of Christ.
However, as brothers and sisters in Christ, we are called to solidarity and show our love through support.
Please give generously by clicking here and writing “Tropical Storm Ernesto” in the comment field.
Please, pray and give. Let us support our Baptist brothers and sisters who are the on site responders. Any questions or concerns, please e-mail CBF Global Missions Coordinator Laura Ayala at layala@cbf.net.
