The stakes are high for pastors. We could speak the rest of the day about the utter hell and guile that pastors have received for trying to do Jesus-centric spiritual formation and discipleship around our political idolatry only. It’s not just the word vomit that has come back on them but the departure of church members and the threat of losing their jobs.
“Our politics is sick. It is not suffering from appendicitis but from leukemia. The problem is not that something has gone wrong, but that the very logic on which the entire system operates exacerbates the sickness,” said Michael Wear on the CBF Podcast Conversation.
