One of the most significant challenges we face within America today is Christians conflating their political beliefs to match their religious beliefs and vice versa. As the Pharisees focused on the maintenance of the Mosaic Law, along with all the laws about the laws, many modern-day Christians have become obsessed with forcing their ideologies onto others.
“The issue is not how dogmatic our convictions are but how we seek to impose those beliefs on others. Can we hold our deep-seated convictions while maintaining a gracious and kind spirit toward people who disagree? Can we embody grace and truth in a world that demands allegiance to one or the other,” asked Terry Crist on the CBF Podcast Conversation.
Crist, the co-lead pastor of City of Grace, sat down with us to explore the concepts of his new book, Loving Samaritans: Radical Kindness in an Us Vs. Them World.
