General CBF

And they’re off!

The Student.Go MDG team departed from Washington DC yesterday headed to their first overseas destination – Romania.  There they will work with and learn about the Roma (Gypsy) population.  They will experience the efforts of CBF field personnel and partners who are involved in efforts to address the poverty, human rights, and education of Roma children and teenagers.  They will be working with CBF field personnel Susan and Wes Craig and other leadership of Project Ruth.

While in Washington, the team met with leadership from Bread for the World, Micah Challenge, Baptist World Aid, the ONE Campaign, and USAID.  These conversations helped the group learn about on the ground efforts globally to achieve the MDGS, the impact of US policies related to extreme poverty and hunger, and multiple opportunities for advocacy and action.  They were commissioned and prayed for on Sunday morning by Calvary Baptist Church.

It was a wonderful start to this incredible journey!  Please pray for this group.  They are a gifted tream of young adults with a real passion to address global poverty.  I can’t wait to see what God does in and through them!

  1. I truly agree with consciousness awakening part of the post.!
People rating poverty as poor from their hearts is the first step towards any revolution to be taking place..

The Millennium Development goals of the UN..works this principle..!
They want people to think..question themselves and then come forward to their bit in the cause..!
It has being doing enormous efforts on these lines….
