My friend, Ryan, is a church starter in a lonely place.  We talked tonight about his discouragement and struggles.  He is in a tough place trying  to do a hard work.  We talked about what success meant.  We talked about how God is using him in ways we can’t comprehend.  We talked about how we can’t know what God is doing or how God is working.  In his head, he knows all this.  But, tonight, his heart is heavy and he needs our prayers.  Will you join me in praying for Ryan and the countless others like him?  Help him know that God is in the lonely places.

I also talked with my  friend, Jim, tonight.  He’s doing a mission work in a hard place.  He and I had the same conversation that Ryan and I had.  Tonight, his heart, too, is heavy and needs our prayers  Will you join me in praying for Jim and the countless others like him?  Help him know that God is in the lonely places.

My friend, Trish, is an associate pastor in a metro area.  She’s doing ministry in what should be an easier place than Ryan and Jim, but she is struggling too.  I shared with her that there is no harder time to do ministry than right now.  In her head she agrees, but her heart is heavy.  Will you join me in praying for Trish and the countless others like her?  Help her know that God is in the lonely places.

Let us pray for one another too!  We all have some lonely place within  us.  God, help us to know that you are in our lonely places too!
