This note just arrived from Marc Wyatt, one of CBF’s field personnel working among internationals in Canada:

Dear Friends,  
We want to let you all know that the team from Canada is all accounted for and well. We received word from them late last night. They were in the street when the earthquake began. A team consisting of three Canadian Baptist Churches (Eglise Evangelique Baptiste d’Ottawa, FBC Leamington and Eglise Evangelique Baptiste d’Montreal) have been in Port au Prince for several days concluding work related to the refugee migration and relief efforts we partner with here in central Canada. Please pray for these Canadian brothers and sisters. The team was expected to return tomorrow in time for two consultations directed at further relief and evangelistic efforts in Haiti and the establishment of two shelters (Matthew Houses) here in Ottawa and Montreal respectively. The team will not return in time for these meetings now but everyone wants to go forward anyway.
 
These churches have been significantly involved with refugee relief and development efforts both in Canada and in Haiti. Since early 2008 they have partnered with us and others in Ontario and Quebec assisting several thousand Haitian refugees migrating to Canada. Please pray also for these thousands who are now anxiously waiting to hear how their families are coping back in their homeland. 
 
Pray for safety, grace and direction from the Lord.
