January 22 update from Nancy and Steve James

From the clinic at Christianville, Haiti Dr. Steve James reports that the four person medical team from Limbe continues to treat quake related injuries and post trauma infections. The team is scheduled to return home to the north of Haiti on Saturday. With the arrival of other health care workers it is not yet clear whether the clinic is now sufficiently staffed or if the clinic leadership would like the Limbe team to return.  

Throughout the country the shift from immediate relief needs to mid and longer range issues seems to have begun. Scott Hunter, an experienced disaster relief consultant/facilitator, arrived in Haute Limbe today and will remain for three months. His role will be to work with Steve and Nancy in developing a plan of action for the coming weeks and months.     

In the short term, Nancy James reports that food prices are on the rise but that supplies seem plentiful due to the relatively easy transport of goods along the north coast highway from the Dominican Republic. 

Thankfully, Nancy reports feeling better rested and more focused. She also reports that hospitals in the north are full and active with teams arriving at any number of locations and a network of cooperating groups called CAP HEALTH being organized. 

Please pray for the healing of the sick and injured at the Christianville clinic and a safe journey for Muiller on Friday and Saturday as he travels south from Limbe carrying relief supplies for the clinic and returning with the medical team.
