It’s hard to forget a passionate person – someone who cares so deeply for something that it changes who he or she is. I can think of many people in Fellowship life that are exactly like this – engaged in a cause that is changing hearts and lives in their own community or around the world. Whether their cause is bringing water to Africa, helping communities recover after natural disasters, or another worthy endeavor, they engage with such passion that I’m inspired and challenged just by watching them work. And when I ask them why they do what they do, the answer seems to always come back to: “This is something I can’t not do.” Undoubtedly, these individuals have discovered their God-given passion and are living into it.
On the afternoon of June 24 in Charlotte, NC, you’ll have an opportunity to take the first step to becoming one of these passionate people. During the Fellowship’s 20th annual General Assembly there will be special workshops to help you discover and engage your God-given passion. You can find a ministry area you’re interested in, learn more about it, and explore ways that you can be part of God’s work in the world. And as open yourself to God’s leading in your life, you just might become one of those hard-to-forget, passionate people who are slowly changing the world.
