Red was the color of the day as we celebrated Pentecost at my church today. We not only celebrated Pentecost, we promoted and gathered the Offering for Global Missions which go together quite nicely. The following was the litany used during worship –

At Pentecost, your people heard the good news of your calling. Your people received the call and responded with gladness. On this Pentecost Sunday, we hear the good news, the news of our calling. We are invited to be part of God’s work in our world. We receive the call and we respond with gladness. The call beckons us to be the People of Christ in communities that are both next door and nowhere near our doors. We are called to go, and to send others to do God’s work. We receive the call and we respond with gladness. This call asks us to give and go; to pray and persevere; to follow God’s mission, to make it our passion. We receive the call and we respond with gladness. We are loved by God, and therefore we are called to love others. we are given much, and so we are called to give of ourselves. We are summoned by God to live lives of service and love. We receive the call and we respond with gladness. Yes, we hear the call, this good news calling from God. We receive the call and we respond with gladness. May it be so!
