I’m in a Camp setting this week with colleagues and 180 college students. Yes, I’m a little old to be hanging around these students. But, thanks be to God, they have invited me in, embraced me, and shared glimpses of their lives.
They’ve all been in ministry this summer. Some were congregational interns, some were Passport Camps staff, some were Student.Go summer missions workers. What a great group.
They love Jesus, they love to sing, they love to laugh. They love life! What a blessing to share this journey with them. They represent the church of today and the church of the days to come. They are excited about worship, concerned about social justice, energized by networks, and engaged in their missional callings.
The church of today is in good hands. The church of the days to come is in even better hands. As an aging Baby Boomer, I’m blessed that these folks have invited me in, shared with me, and included me in this community!
Sounds like a lot of fun. The fellowship needs these youngins more than they will ever know. Thanks for being a mentor to them Bo.
