General CBF

Reading is fun in North Carolina

They arrived at Union Mission eager to see what the literacy fair would have in store for them. Children with their parent or caregiver arrived to songs and much fun around the subject of books. Games, songs, and laughter; what more could you want for the day. The team from West Field Baptist Church, Dunn, NC are skilled at working with children in that this is the second year they have provided the literacy fair for the residents of Roanoke Rapids, NC. It was also pleasing to see the whole community become involved in the event. Ladies from the community provided a nutritional lunch for each participant. The best part? Each participant was able to take home their very own books from Union Mission’s 2012 Literacy fair. A large thank you to our friends at West Field Baptist for helping in a county where 25% of the children are in poverty.
