ChurchWorks is good fellowship, networking and learning

The following post is from Bo Prosser, coordinator of missional congregations for CBF, Atlanta, Ga.

There is nothing better than a mid-Winter gathering for fellowship, networking and learning. ChurchWorks joins Christian educators, young Baptist ministers, church starters, young chaplains and ministry networks for a time of sharing and playing together. Think of ChurchWorks as a “mini” General Assembly focusing on formation and education.

We bring together those with a shared passion for spiritual formation. We bring together those with a shared passion for Christian education. We bring together those of us with a shared passion for continued learning. And we swap ideas, affirm one another and share in this continued journey… together. It’s opportunity for ministers to discover new ideas and deepen their understanding of a changing church environment.

I am always eager to get to ChurchWorks. This is a good time to renew friendships and catch up on one another’s work. This is also a good time to relax and catch your breath before the fast pace of Easter and summer. We learn from one another and from specialists who come to lead us. This year, Mark Wingfield will be sharing insights from his new book on congregations and Kenda Creasy Dean will be sharing discernments on youth and culture. This promises to be an engaging time.

We’re excited that Broadway Baptist Church has partnered with us to host this event. What a gracious congregation we have in them. And we’re just across the street from Downtown Fort Worth…a city full of good eateries and places to hang out and enjoy friends. ChurchWorks is going to be a wonderful gathering. Join us.
