Married Priests, Iranian Conflict, China Trade War and Global Warming are just a few of the topics that Father Thomas Reese has written on in the last few months for the Religion News Service.
We are a long way away from the days of writing about simple theological matters. Today’s religion contributors cover a wide range of complicated and contentious issues.
The Catholic Church is no exception from the polarizing and divisive nature of the times in which we live. Good Catholics everywhere stand in stark contrast of one another on any given issue.
And yet, wading into the troublesome waters, bringing a sense of reason, truth, unity and compassion, is someone like Father Thomas Reese.
For the last 45 years, Reese has been serving through Jesuit order. He previously served as the editor for the America Magazine, and in 2014, he was appointed by President Barack Obama to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.
